Yogi Adityanath, the Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh has accepted Priyanka Gandhi Vadra’s request to allow Congress to arrange buses to transport migrant workers. These buses will be used to ferry the migrant workers to their native homes across the state of UP.
Earlier, Congress General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra had requested permission from the CM to ply as many as 1,000 buses for the movement of migrants.
Responding to her request, the UP government has now asked Priyanka Gandhi Vadra to provide a list of the drivers and conductors that will be tasked with this objective. A letter in this regard was sent to her by UP Additional Chief Secretary (Home) Awanish Awasthi on Monday.
In response to the UP government’s acceptance of her proposal, Priyanka Gandhi Vadra tweeted, “Thank you for allowing us to run 1,000 buses at the expense of the Congress to help thousands of our brothers and sisters walking on foot in Uttar Pradesh.”
